KERSANI, a Sculpture Art Exhibition

KERSANI is an exhibition of artworks produced by participants of a metal forging practical/internship program with Malaysian well-known metal sculpture-YM Raja Shahriman.

The program’s main objective is to nurture and create individuals as well as preserving and maintaining the technique and method of metal forging. This exhibition is also in conjunction with ArtFAS (Art For All Seasons) which is a platform aimed at highlighting Malaysia’s artistic and culture heritage and is support by Yayasan Hasanah (foundation under Khazanah Nasional).

The metal forging practical/internship learning program is first to be held here. A total 8 participant with various background, under the leadership and guidance of YM Raja Shahriman, produced metal products and sculptures that we see in this exhibition. Although the learning period is only 8 weeks, but the result are very encouraging and beyond our expectations.

From the products and sculpture exhibited at this exhibition, we hoped that more learning program like this can and will be implemented in the future so as to nurture, create and build individuals with good knowledge of the metal forging technique. This will also encourage a society that is more appreciative to metal artworks and sculptures.
