Say “art gallery” and images of men in suits along with women wearing cocktail dresses will come to mind.
The two words have, more or less, always been associated with another word: elitist.
Bent on dispelling that image, KEN Gallery wants to create a platform to engage the community – young and old and many generations to come through arts. Eventually, we want to make arts an essential part of Malaysian life.
Our vision has always been about Developing Your Future and with that; we see a future where culture plays a big role in our lives and the lives of the nation we are building.
This vision has been a lifelong passion of our founder Chairman, Dato’ Kenny Tan, and a vision that KEN Holdings Berhad is proud to share with you.
Set in a 20,000 sq. ft. of space, the gallery is divided into four halls with different sections namely The Main Hall, Hall 1, Hall 2, Hall 3 and a conservation centre.
The Main Hall houses a permanent exhibition of Dato’ Kenny Tan’s private collection with a selection of some of Malaysia’s most talented and prominent artists.
There is also a section called ‘The Trail’ at the Main Hall that showcases exquisite fine porcelain antiques. Leading the pathway from The Trail is the Oriental Pavilion where it displays a wide collection of Malaysian brush paintings, and Ming Dynasty furniture.
